Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team and fast-growing business. The Production Manager is responsible for optimizing plant operations and ensuring adherence to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee daily production activities, ensuring on-time and on-budget completion of production schedules.
  2. Manage and direct the production team to ensure operational efficiency and maintain the highest quality standards.
  3. Provide leadership and support to line supervisors and address line staff concerns promptly.
  4. Identify and implement process enhancements to optimize productivity and identify areas for staff development.
  5. Hire production employees based on production needs.
  6. Lead and coach supervisors while promoting internal development and growth across all roles.
  7. Allocate resources effectively, including workforce, equipment, and materials, to optimize production output.
  8. Track and analyze production KPIs (yield, waste, etc.) to identify and implement corrective actions for quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  9. Collaborate with production planning for material and labor needs.
  10. Monitor and adjust production schedules as needed.
  11. Ensure team alignment by communicating company policies, mission, and goals to staff.
  12. Identify training needs and select and train plant staff for job-specific duties.
  13. Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of food safety and quality control programs.
  14. Develop and enforce work-safe procedures to meet OHS requirements, fostering a safety culture.
  15. Liaise with maintenance to resolve equipment issues promptly.
  16. Attend/hold meetings across departments to address production, equipment, safety, and quality concerns.
  17. Ensure all plant sanitation processes meet company and regulatory standards.
  18. Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Production, and Maintenance to troubleshoot production issues and cultivate a culture of continuous quality improvement.
  19. Ensure production scheduling adheres to stringent allergen handling procedures, minimizing contamination risks.
  20. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  1. University Degree or a College Diploma in Applied Science, Food Science, or Manufacturing.
  2. Minimum 5 years production supervisory experience, preferably in Food or Beverage manufacturing environment.
  3. Proven ability to manage, direct, and motivate a diverse workforce to achieve common goals.
  4. Previous experience in Production & Labor scheduling is an asset.
  5. Proficient in Business systems, with the ability to extract data from the system to create management reports.
  6. Proficient in MS Office suite.
  7. Inventory management experience/knowledge.
  8. Ability to lift and move products & materials as required for the role.
  9. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to foster collaboration and build strong relationships across all levels.
