Our client is seeking a Solar Project Developer to lead the development of solar energy projects across the Maritimes. This full-time position is based in Halifax, NS.


Project Management

  • Lead the development of community-scale solar projects from inception to completion.
  • Manage project development budgets and timelines.
  • Coordinate with Senior Management to prioritize key project tasks.


Stakeholder Consultation and Relationship Building

  • Build and maintain relationships with landowners, government officials, utilities, regulators, and community members.
  • Execute communication plans for each project.
  • Present project proposals to local officials and stakeholder groups.


Project Development

  • Oversee the permitting and approvals process, including contracting environmental and engineering consultants.
  • Navigate regulations and zoning policies for community-scale solar projects.
  • Manage the interconnection process with local utilities.
  • Handle project land lease agreements and other legal instruments.
  • Collaborate with Senior Management on project financial models.


Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in sciences, environmental studies, engineering, resource management, or related fields.
  • Passion for renewable energy and reducing the carbon footprint.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Development, Land acquisition.
  • Proficiency in project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work from Halifax, NS.
