Primary 1 (Strategic - Development) Role:

The Manager - Electrical will provide strategic support and vision (using the appropriate team resources) to further advance product development initiatives for both electrical and electronic products when it comes to the development of new products and understanding market trends and needs. This will include close interaction with Evans’ Customers, Sales, Marketing and Product Development.


Primary 2 (Operational) Role:

The Manager - Electrical will oversee the Evans electrical team and will be responsible for all aspects of Electrical operations. The team is a mix of R&D and manufacturing resources focused on the implementation and development of electrical/electronic solutions that are integrated in the Evans product and service offering. A key aspect of this role will also be the direct interaction with Evans’ customers, both technical and other.


Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain engineering policies and practices
  • Provide leadership and direction in the key areas of the Electrical team;
  1. Manage the development of new electrical/electronic offerings being done primarily by external vendors (possibility of developing internal capability)
  2. Work closely with Product Development, Sales, Marketing and Business Development teams to understand market demand and opportunities and develop new product and services offerings accordingly
  3. Support Sales, Project Management, Design and our Customers in developing project specific electrical and electronic solutions
  4. Coordinate and manage support of field inquiries regarding electrical issues for existing customers and product installations.
  5. Manage the manufacturing electrical operation. Ensure products are being delivered to meet timelines as outlined by scheduling. Primary role will be the manager the Operations Lead and interact with Sr. Plant Management.
  • Create proposal, design and manufacturing standards for the respective departments.
  • Incorporate all the electrical offerings in the 3D systems to be used by all internal departments. Work closely with Product development and the Global Vault manager to ensure the electrical designs and sub-assemblies are accurate and reflect the offerings in the ERP system.
  • Develop and implantation of company processes as related to electrical offerings
  • Work closely with the Marketing Department to guide product development (improvement) based on market requirements
  • Provides technical product / project direction to Sales, Project management and Manufacturing
  • Defines, maintains, and ensures accuracy in Evans product standards (including value engineering)
  • Continuously evaluate the product offering in terms of relevance, features, efficiency and provide appropriate updates/upgrades as needed.


Qualifications

  • P Eng. Designation or pursuit of
  • Expert MS Office skills related to field of study or equivalent.
  • Team Management and Leadership
  • Execution of daily operational tasks in all aspects of the role
  • Understanding of various electrical codes (NEC) and the implications on our products
  • and services (including potential liability)
  • Interact with all relevant stakeholders and formulate the interactions into tangible action items or strategic initiatives.
  • Hands on product design including development of new products and job specific customization
  • Understanding market needs and developing adequate solutions to meet them.
  • Communicate new products and service offerings throughout the organization
  • including technical manuals, sales manuals, marketing material and other.


Education/Experience

  • Engineering Degree (Electrical or Electronics Engineering)
  • Advanced Management or Business Degree optional
  • 5+ years Product Development / New Product Introduction / Management of New Development Process (min)
  • 5+ years Electrical Manufacturing industry experience (min)
  • Experience with Autodesk CAD/Inventor Electrical
  • Experience or knowledge with basic programing, firmware and control logic
  • Expert MS Office skills related to field of study or equivalent
