What you’ll do:
Reporting to the Director of People & Culture, the People & Culture Advisor will be responsible for providing superior Human Resources services, leadership and technical advice to the retail in the areas of:

  1. Talent Acquisition: You will assist leaders with recruiting top talent to meet organizational needs, including interviewing, creating competency-based interview guides, and developing recruiting strategies.
  2. Performance Management: You will advise leaders on performance management processes and provide coaching opportunities.
  3. Employee Engagement: You will collaborate with organizational leaders to implement initiatives to boost employee morale and job satisfaction.
  4. Succession Planning: You will collaborate with leaders to identify and prepare future leaders for key positions, advising on career paths and growth opportunities.
  5. Employee Relations: You will foster a positive work environment and address issues related to employment and labour standards, ensuring compliance with policies and best practices.
  6. Learning and Development: You will develop and facilitate training programs to enhance skills and promote continuous learning.
  7. Disability Management: You will collaborate with various departments to administer the Ability Management Program and manage claims.

Who you are:
This position ideally requires an individual with a minimum of 3-5 years of HR generalist experience, along with a CPHR designation or equivalent. The successful candidate will possess the following skills:
  • Strong understanding of HR practices, labour laws, and employment standards.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.

This individual will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to handle challenging situations professionally and confidentially. A positive, friendly, and approachable personality along with a high standard of work will also be required.
