Position Overview

This position will report to the Senior Director, Contracts and be based at the IMP Aerospace and Defence location near the Halifax International Airport.


What You Will Do

  1. Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including contract drafting, negotiation, review, approval, execution, and renewal.
  2. Conduct thorough review and analysis of contract terms and conditions, ensuring compliance with contractual terms, legal and regulatory requirements, as well as company policies.
  3. Monitor contract performance and compliance.
  4. Work with internal departments and management to ensure adherence to contractual terms, including legal and regulatory obligations.
  5. Serve as the focal point for formal communications between IMP and external customers.
  6. Negotiate new and renewal contracts and contract changes.
  7. Work with internal Legal Counsel in the development and drafting of contractual terms and conditions, Teaming Agreements; Non-Disclosure Agreements and other legal agreements.
  8. Attendance at Internal and External Contract Progress Review Meetings.
  9. Periodic internal and external reporting of contractual performance and issues.
  10. Prepare financial information to support contractual activities undertaken by the Company.
  11. Support financial forecasting for contract expenditures.
  12. Support management of various first-tier subcontractor relationships.
  13. Supervise a team of Contract Administrators.
  14. Maintain a contractual document repository, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for all relevant stakeholders.
  15. Engage in and support capture and bid management efforts.
  16. Customer billing preparation and oversight.
  17. Assist with company compliance to Export Control, ITAR and Controlled Goods Regulations.

What You Will Bring

  1. 5+ years' industry experience with Contract Management emphasis.
  2. Bachelor of Commerce/ Business Administration.
  3. Preference will be given to those having experience in government contracts analysis and billing.
  4. Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially advanced Excel skills.
  5. Good organizational and time-management skills.
  6. Above average interpersonal and written communication skills.
  7. Good problem solving skills and ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Responsibility, close attention to detail, ability to meet tight deadlines.
  9. Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies.
  10. Participate in Continuous Improvement activities in your area.
  11. Must be eligible to meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian Government Security Clearances.
