This position includes working with other team members performing trade-related duties in the completion of water-main rehabilitation projects.

What does your day look like as a Watermain Technician:

  • Review and understand project plans and job requirements for equipment, materials, and installation.
  • Perform and document hazard assessments, safety meetings, and site/project meetings as required.
  • Ensure proper cleanup of completed projects.
  • Maintain reporting and documentation related to project status, vehicle and equipment maintenance, safety, and time tracking.
  • Participate in and complete all in-house training programs.

To succeed as a Watermain Technician:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • CCTV experience mandatory.
  • Previous construction or outdoor trade-related experience.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license accompanied by a clean motor vehicle record for the last 36 months. Preference given to Class 1 license holders. Should possess a reliable vehicle.
  • Experience with running a robotic cutter truck is an asset.
  • Pre and post-repair CCTV inspections.
  • Working in confined spaces and heights are an asset.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions including standing, kneeling, bending, lifting, and operating hand tools and machinery on work sites with rough terrain.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with other team members and customers.
  • Flexibility and the ability to adjust to changing priorities and work-related demands.
  • Demonstrated conscientiousness and dependability, can be relied upon to produce results.
