Role Description

We are seeking a full-time Corporate/M&A Lawyer to join our team in a hybrid capacity, with three days in-office and two days remote each week. This role involves significant responsibility in handling legal tasks associated with corporate transactions, mergers, and acquisitions. You’ll be based in Toronto but will have flexibility for remote work.


Responsibilities

  • Draft a variety of legal documents including contracts, memos, summaries, and closing documents
  • Organize and close transactions, managing each step from planning to execution
  • Conduct legal research to answer complex questions and support transactional work
  • Develop and maintain internal resources, such as checklists, legal summaries, and workflows
  • Contribute to thought leadership by writing articles and guides on relevant legal subjects for clients and the industry


Qualifications

  • 1-3 years post-call experience, with a solid background in corporate law, M&A, or business law
  • Strong interest in business, with foundational knowledge of business terminology and operations
  • Client-focused mindset, with an understanding that delivering results is central to our service
  • Excellent analytical, research, and legal writing abilities
  • Energetic, proactive, and solution-oriented with a drive to learn, receive feedback, and grow professionally
  • Capable of rapidly adapting to and learning new software applications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario


Compensation

Salary for this role is based on experience, with a base range of $90,000 to $110,000 plus a discretionary bonus awarded based on both individual performance and the overall performance of the firm.
