Working under the direction of the Operational Manager and in collaboration with other members of the inter-disciplinary team, the Occupational therapist will assess and treat patients, delegate appropriate duties to OTA/ PTA, provide student supervision and maintain best practice standards in accordance with UHN policies and procedures.

The occupational therapist facilitates behavioural activation and patient functioning on the ward through engagement in meaningful skill-building activity and participation in the ward group therapy program. Occupational therapists collaborate weekly with the medical team (staff psychiatrist, medical resident and medical student) and allied health to proactively raise and resolve any discharge planning concerns, including providing equipment recommendations.

This position would support oncology and geriatric psychiatry however, the patient population may change depending on department needs.
