Logistics Engineer

Insight Global is looking to hire a Logistics Engineer to support one of their top Aerospace Engineering clients in the Montreal area. Working on various programs, the component coordinator is responsible for ensuring that assemblies are ordered on time and within budget. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, he or she facilitates the communication of information between the various program participants (program managers, designers, buyers, etc.). This person works in a field requiring a high level of reliability for products dedicated to space. Their role is to ensure that nothing prevents the production of assemblies, and to be responsible for reporting potential problems.
Tasks:
The Component Coordinator will perform and participate in the following tasks:
- Participate in technical discussions with a multidisciplinary team (designers, unit lead, program manager, etc.)
- Participate in the PCB planning and development process.
- Understand high-level systems, in order to understand part coordination requirements.
- Participate in the development of tools to respond quickly and efficiently to different needs.
- Ensure that assemblies are produced on time.
- Understand technological issues related to part selection.
- Monitor assembly status and report potential problems.
- Be proactive in reducing program and BOM costs.
- Communicate with manufacturers to obtain quotations.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering, with a minimum 5 years of experience.
- Demonstrate good written and oral communication skills in English and French.
- Knowledge of electronic components and understanding of their cards.
- Experience in electronic board design.
- Good understanding of electronic design phases.
- Good knowledge of the Office 2016 suite or more recent, in particular Excel (Power Query, VBA, formulas, etc.).
- Knowledge of the Atlassian suite (Jira and Confluence), an asset.
- Experience in logistics, an asset
- Good priority management skills
- Ability to work independently.
- Fluency in spoken and written French
Au sein de différents programmes, la personne en charge de la coordination de composants doit s'assurer que les assemblages soient commandés à temps et dans le budget établi. Elle intervient dans une équipe multidisciplinaire et facilite la communication des informations entre les différents intervenants au programme (Chargé de programmes, concepteurs, acheteurs, etc.). Cette personne évolue dans un domaine requérant un niveau de fiabilité élevé pour des produits dédiés à l'espace. Son rôle est de s'assurer que rien ne va empêcher la production des assemblages et être responsable de signaler les potentiels problèmes.
Tâches:
Le Coordinateur de Composant effectuera et participera aux tâches suivantes:
- Participer aux discussions techniques avec une équipe multidisciplinaire (designers, unit lead, program manager, etc.)
- Participer au processus de planification et développement des circuits imprimées (PCB)
- Comprendre les systèmes à haut niveau, afin de comprendre les besoins en coordination de pièce.
- Participer au développement des outils, pour répondre efficacement et rapidement aux différents besoins.
- S'assurer que les assemblages seront produits à temps
- Comprendre les enjeux technologiques reliés à la sélection de pièces
- Suivre l'état des assemblages et signaler les potentiels problèmes
- Être pro-actif dans la réduction des coûts au niveau des programmes et des BOMs.
- Communiquer avec les manufacturiers pour obtenir des devis.
Qualifications Requises:
- Baccalauréat en ingénierie électronique, avec un minimum 5 ans d'expérience.
- Démontrer une bonne communication écrite et orale en anglais et français.
- Connaissance de composantes électroniques et compréhension de leurs fiches.
- Expérience en conception de cartes électroniques.
- Bonne compréhension des phases de conception électronique.
- Bonne connaissance de la suite Office 2016 ou plus récent, en particulier Excel (Power Query, VBA, formules, etc.)
- Connaitre la suite Atlassian (Jira et Confluence), un atout
- Expérience en logistique, un atout
- Avoir une bonne gestion des priorités
- Être autonome dans son travail.
- Maitrise du Français oral et écrit
