Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Field Quality Coordinator to join our team

The City of Edmonton selected Marigold Infrastructure Partners to design and build the 14-kilometre Valley Line West LRT project from downtown to Lewis Farms. Construction began in 2021. Marigold is a design-build joint venture agreement between Parsons and Colas.

Responsibilities:

  • Review construction performance to ensure the early identification of variances and corrective action.
  • Ensure early identification and documentation of non-conformities through regular surveillance audits, site walk downs and other forms of Quality Control activities.
  • Support external ISO 9001 registration and assessment audit programs
  • Hold project team accountable for quality control program requirements and the overall Quality Manual.
  • Perform regular surveillance audits to ensure adherence to the ITP program.
  • Ensure understanding of the code and specification requirements applicable to the specific scope of work.
  • Perform internal and external audits in line with the ISO 9001 standard and the Project Audit Schedule, as assigned.
  • Monitor and evaluate the subcontractors' performance and report to the Quality Manager
  • Verify project requirements are specified to vendors and contractor documentation submittals.
  • Review the material receiving process to ensure all received materials are in conformance with the approved submittal, stored and handled appropriately.
  • May attend pre-bid meetings and coordinate project requirements.
  • Follow up status of issued non-conformance reports.
  • Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system.
  • Recommend and implement improvements when required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or Quality discipline or related field (or equivalent work experience) and typically 4+ years of related work experience in the field of Quality.
  • Good knowledge and experience in the implementation of problem-solving methodology and performance of root cause analysis (i.e. Six Sigma)
  • Good knowledge and experience in ISO 9001 Quality Management System and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Building Codes, CSA and ASTM codes.
  • Experience interpreting codes and specifications.
  • Thorough knowledge of general construction methods and construction codes.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret design documents (drawings and specifications)
  • Understands how to research and locate manufacturer's product data and installation guidelines.
  • Knowledge of building envelope construction and materials.
  • Understands the requirements of fire-rated construction requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and quality management systems.
