Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Practical Nurse to join our healthcare team at Ottawa Pain and Spine Institute in Somerset Street, Ottawa. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate and high-quality patient care in various medical settings.

Duties

  1. Administer medications and treatments to patients if need be
  2. Complete patient assessment upon arrival, take vitals etc. and prepare for the physician
  3. Monitor and assess patients' conditions
  4. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members
  5. Educate patients and their families on healthcare plans
  6. Maintain accurate medical records
  7. Assist in medical procedures and surgeries
  8. Provide emotional support to patients and families
  9. Review inventory and order supplies
  10. Work as a team member and support the other clinic staff with routine tasks

Skills

  1. Strong background in acute care nursing
  2. Proficiency in pain management techniques
  3. Knowledge of laboratory procedures and results interpretation
  4. Experience in chronic pain management and pre-post operative care is an asset
  5. Experience with PS Suite electronic health records systems preferred
  6. Excellent patient care skills

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Pay: $22.50-$27.50 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 35 per week

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • LPN/RPN (required)
  • Nursing (preferred)
  • CPR Certification (preferred)
  • First Aid Certification (required)

Work Location: In person

Expected start date: 2024-08-26
