PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Responsible for providing leadership in Agri-Finance administration, credit administration, and marketing of credit programs as a sales tool.

SUPERVISION & LEADERSHIP

Supervises, leads, and develops assigned staff through effective planning, coaching, and communicating performance expectations & standards, to achieve maximum growth, profitability and customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Investigates and verifies financial status and reputation of prospective customers applying for credit, preparing documents to substantiate findings, and recommending rejection or approval of applications
  2. Establishes Credit limitations on consumer accounts and handles special credit arrangements and deviations from standard terms of payment
  3. Reviews collection reports to ascertain status of collections and balances outstanding and to evaluate the effectiveness of current collection policies and procedures
  4. Audits delinquent accounts considered to be uncollectible to ensure maximum efforts have been taken before assigning bad debt status to account
  5. Coordinates with others, including personnel in company branches to exchange information and update controls
  6. Participates in taking applications for financing and requests specified information for loan application
  7. Requests applicant credit reports, background checks, reference checks, and other information pertinent to loan applicants evaluation
  8. Analyzes applicant’s financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan or submits application to credit analyst for verification and recommendation
  9. Corresponds with or interviews applicant or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information
  10. Compiles loan package and facilitates negotiation of loan structure with applicant, including fees, loan repayment options, and other credit terms
  11. Approves loan within specified limits or refers loan to a loan committee for approval
  12. Ensures loan agreements are complete and accurate according to policy
  13. Assures timely loan completion and funding activities
  14. Identifies and analyzes potential loan marketing options to develop prospects for operating loans
  15. Advises management of external factors that may affect lending policies, such as new or revised legislation and regulations. Recommends and implements appropriate changes to established policies and procedures
  16. Promotes and cross-sells other company products and services as appropriate to customer requirements
  17. Provides loan data to support marketing and sales promotion programs

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • May submit delinquent accounts to attorney or outside agency for collection.
  • Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply
  • May be required to drive and run local errands
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

Normally requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; or the equivalent thereof, and at least 3 years of accounting or finance-related area to demonstrate financial leadership, organization, planning and problem-solving skills.

Prefer an understanding of GROWMARK System credit administration.

Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Must be able to travel independently and overnight.
  • Must be able to work extended hours beyond those considered “normal.”
  • Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
