Quality Assurance Lead is required to support the overall implementation of the project quality assurance program for major retube and refurbishment projects. The Quality Assurance Lead reports to the Project Quality Director.

Location - Mississauga, ON

Your role within the team:

  1. Lead and supervise a group of project QA professionals and Procurement Quality Assurance Representatives in technical issues or resolving quality events of major proportion and significance to the project.
  2. Act as a QA specialist/expert in quality assurance and quality control, interfacing with client engineering and quality groups on daily and complex quality issues.
  3. Qualified as a Lead auditor with a minimum of 10 years of internal and supplier quality auditing experience.
  4. Establish and maintain a tracking system of all project manufacturing and construction History Files/Dockets for project submissions and milestones.
  5. Develop project-specific quality assurance plans and procedures.
  6. Manage supplier audits/qualifications related to specific project scope.
  7. Develop project self-assessment plans and track completion status.
  8. Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of quality staff and support employees.
  9. Estimate and monitor schedules and assign work to meet completion dates and project milestones.
  10. Evaluate suppliers’ capability to provide items or services in accordance with procurement document requirements prior to contract award.
  11. Oversee activities related to QA review of procurement packages, such as EQR, PDCL, and technical documents. Prepare Quality Tender Evaluations and bid evaluations.

The ideal candidate:

  1. University degree in Engineering.
  2. Minimum of 15 years practical working experience in a relevant nuclear field.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of procedures, processes, equipment, and techniques.
  4. Good knowledge of CSA N 285.0, CSA N 299, CSA N286-05, and ASME codes.
  5. Good understanding of relevant CANDU systems and retube technology.
  6. Ability to write procedures and review documents on a technical level.
  7. Strong verbal/written communication skills and effectiveness in interpersonal relationships.
  8. Basic computing skills and functionality with standard Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
