Temporary Psychoeducational Consultant

Location:Education Centre

Schedule: 17.5 Hours per week

Salary: $86,516 to 92,094 (Full time annual salary - will be pro-rated to 17.5 hrs/week)

(compensation also includes a comprehensive benefits package (including extended health and dental, life insurance, health care spending account), participation in the OMERS pension plan, competitive vacation and sick leave, and maternity/parental leave top-up)

Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board (HPEDSB) serves approximately 15,400 students each day at 39 in-person schools (32 elementary, two K-12; four 7-12, one secondary). Supporting student achievement is the goal of approximately 1,750 teaching and support staff who, in addition to the contributions of caring volunteers and community partners, share their passion for teaching and learning.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Complete comprehensive, individual psychological assessments including but not limited to: administer and score psychometric testing materials, clinical interview, interpretation of testing data, case formulation, report writing and presenting the assessment findings and recommendations to school personnel and parents/guardians. All duties are performed under clinical supervision of the Board Lead Psychologist. Ongoing psychological and/or psychoeducational consultation to Special Education Services, school personnel, and parents/guardians is required.

QUALIFICATIONS: The successful applicant will possess a Master’s degree in Psychology or equivalent area of study; over four years of related experience preferably in a community or educational setting; excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating tact and sensitivity. Demonstrated interpersonal skills with a strong client and quality of service focus. Strong analytical, assessment and problem solving skills are required. Proficient in the use of work processing and email software. Experience working in a multi-disciplinary setting and demonstrated experience with intervention strategies appropriate for children and youth.
