Summary: We are looking for a responsible Quality Assurance Inspector to ensure our products meet industry standards by assessing conformity with design specifications and improving product quality and reliability. This role involves overseeing QA of the assigned production area, identifying personnel for cross-training and coaching, and ensuring that the assigned area meets quality standards and schedules. The day-to-day work includes careful inspections and the enforcement of quality standards.

The successful incumbent is action-driven, detail-oriented, and possesses a keen ability to analyze causes and effects, with an interest in translating numerical data into relevant opportunities for operational improvements. The ideal candidate will have a trained eye for detail and be reliable and committed. In-depth knowledge and comprehension of quality standards is essential.

The primary responsibilities and duties include:

  • Responsible for all incoming, in-process, and final inspection.
  • Monitor parts from the production area and report issues or concerns.
  • Inspection of digital boards from the Engineering Specification.
  • Focus on details and strictly follow the inspection criteria to ensure products are free from defects.
  • Work closely with the Supervisor to maintain excellent production quality and quantity.
  • Diagnose and analyze the causes of defects while effectively communicating with the Supervisor and team.
  • Inspect samples from production using instruments or visually to complete quality reports.
  • Ensure product quality and assist the Supervisor in setting quality improvements.
  • Ensure that proper methods and procedures are being used and that quality, safety, and environmental standards are met.
  • Communicate with the Supervisor on all concerns necessary to maintain production schedules.
  • Contribute to streamlining operations for existing and new product lines.
  • Initiate or recommend improvements to QA production procedures.
  • Actively participate in daily production meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean, healthy, and safe work environment.
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with manufacturing staff.
  • Read blueprints and instructions to comprehend quality expectations.
  • Select output samples and check them using appropriate methods.
  • Use automated systems to perform complex testing procedures.
  • Inspect procedures of the entire production cycle for efficiency and compliance.
  • Complete inspection and test reports, working collaboratively with team members.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications:

Academic Training:

  • College Diploma in a related manufacturing field (preferably in electrical/electronics).
  • Proven hands-on experience in a quality system environment (e.g., ISO/QS 9000, ISO/TS 16949).
  • Six Sigma certification or relevant quality certifications are assets.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant work experience in quality assurance, quality control, or process engineering in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proven experience as a quality inspector or in a relevant role.

Specific Competencies:

  • Demonstrated decision-making and leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Highly motivated with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Methodical and critical thinker with engineering processing skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills to manage various tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be available for shift work, including weekends if required.
  • A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
  • Familiarity with quality testing machines and systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies.
