Applications Analyst, Clinical Informatics

Permanent Full-Time

Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Informatics, the Radiant Applications Analyst will use their clinical knowledge combined with their superior analytical skills to support the Mackenzie Health EMR (electronic medical record). Additionally, they will work closely with Medical Imaging physician, nursing, and allied health leadership, as well as various clinical groups to provide end user support, troubleshoot issues and errors in the system, and enhance and improve the EMR. They will be responsible for maintaining system standards by analyzing business operations, as well as prioritizing and implementing requested changes. Additional duties will include participating in rotational on-call, integrated system testing, upgrades and optimizations of the software, end user training, and creating and maintaining training environments and curriculums. Further responsibilities include developing and documenting policies and procedures and acting as the liaison between medical imaging end users, EMR, and associated third party vendors to ensure clear communication.

What must you have?

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in a clinically related field; health informatics or computer science or equivalent
  • EPIC certification in Radiant an asset, or certification will be required within 3 months of hire
  • Superior experience with MS Office/ Windows / Visio experience
  • Experience working with Epic EMR required

What else do you bring?

  • Two to five years of hospital clinical and/or hospital information systems and EMR experience (required)
  • Values the importance of data quality in an EMR as well as user security, and access provisioning best practices
  • Knowledge of how various clinical workflows are conducted in a hospital setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate information clearly and concisely with, physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, other clinical stakeholders, and project leadership
  • The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in supporting large scale health care information systems and technologies. They will utilize their project management skills to execute on-time deliverables to the organization.
  • They will use their expertise and understanding of the organizational culture and clinical application experience in providing support in the delivery of care across the hospital
  • Strong communication and conflict-management skills
  • Proven attendance record. Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others and demonstrates behaviours consistent with Mackenzie Health’s Commitment to Caring.

Preferably, your profile also includes:

  • ITIL certification an asset
  • Clinical, professional designations preferred
  • Service Now experience an asset
