Role Description
We are looking for a super talented web developer contractor with proven frontend skills in WordPress custom theme development to join our team. If you love building beautiful and functional websites and you're amazing at it, this job is for you.
We estimate approximately 20-30 hours per week, with the potential to be more.
- Work with our team to propose a strategic approach and development infrastructure, establish cost and timeline estimates, and identify potential risks.
- Using supplied prototypes made in Figma, you will be required to produce pixel perfect Wordpress websites from scratch.
- Maintain and update existing sites.
- Optimize sites for speed/usability/accessibility.
- Test and QA review website projects.
Must have:
- Minimum 5 yrs experience in front-end development
- Experienced in producing a Wordpress website from scratch using Advanced Custom Fields. Candidates with only pre-built theme builder experience such as Elementor or WP Bakery will not be considered
- Strong experience with HTML / CSS/SCSS / JavaScript (ES6+). You should have most CSS properties memorized and be able to create pixel perfect layouts and custom design from prototypes made in Figma.
- Experience in optimizing sites for speed/usability/accessibility across desktop, tablet and mobile platforms.
- Experience in developing and implementing Test/QA plans
- Excellent communication skills with both colleagues and external clients
- Experience & understanding of security best practices
Bonus Points:
- Experienced in developing eCommerce sites (Shopify or other platforms).
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React/ NextJS / Gatsby ). Experience with headless CMSs
- Basic server / DNS management skills
- Experience with advance website security, including reviving hacked sites
Compensation:
Hourly rate based on experience ($35-$60/per hour CDN)
