Summary of Position

The Automation Project Manager within the VJP/WEG Automation Group is responsible for overseeing and managing ongoing WEG Automation projects. This role involves technical project management, project execution, and ensuring customer satisfaction through efficient and timely delivery. The ideal candidate will combine strong project management skills with hands-on experience in industrial automation, exceptional organizational abilities, and the ability to thrive under pressure.



Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Lead end-to-end management of WEG Automation projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.


Hands-On Contribution

  • Actively participate in the development, implementation, and deployment of automation solutions.
  • Collaborate with the technical team to manage ongoing projects and ensure the successful deployment of applications.
  • Facilitate weekly stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Continuously improve team processes to enhance productivity and quality.


Stakeholder Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communication.
  • Prepare and present regular progress reports to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations through transparent and proactive communication.


Risk Management

  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust plans to address challenges and changes as they arise.


Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including requirements, design specifications, and user manuals.
  • Track and report on project metrics, milestones, and deliverables.


Additional Technical Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support, including start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting, and diagnostics for customers and sales staff.
  • Follow up on quotations for standard products, third-party products, and electrical control panels.
  • Process customer and supplier orders in a timely manner and follow up on the status of factory deliveries.
  • Conduct or assist with customer seminars, workshops, and trade shows.


Qualifications

  • Minimum post-secondary education.
  • At least 4 years of project management experience in industrial automation.
  • Proficiency in MS Project (or similar software), Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under the pressure of tight deadlines.
