Vice President Finance

At E.G. Penner Building Centres Ltd., a COR certified supplier, we strive to be the premier building, home improvement and design centre in Southeastern Manitoba. E.G. Penner Building Centres Ltd. is seeking a Vice President, Finance to join our management team.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will provide financial leadership by managing budgets, overseeing all accounting functions, conducting forecast analysis, and monitoring corporate credit. The Vice President, Finance will also play a key role in our long-term strategic decision-making processes.

Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance and a CPA designation.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience.
• Extensive experience and knowledge in dealing with accounting systems, budgets, internal controls, business planning, and asset management.
• Advanced proficiency with accounting software, spreadsheet programs, and applications.
• Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
• Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
• Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanor.
• A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
• Excellent teamwork and team building skills.
• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments, key business partners, and external agencies.
• Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
