Health Futures is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to play a pivotal role in our development process. Responsibilities

  • Facilitate collaborative sessions with diverse business stakeholder groups to drive requirement discovery, impact analysis, and prioritization.
  • Identify and engage key influencer groups to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Act as a bridge between business and technical teams, translating business needs into clear, actionable system requirements.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives).
  • Write and refine user stories, acceptance criteria, and contribute to the product backlog.
  • Develop use cases, process workflows, and system interactions for different user personas.
  • Support backlog grooming and sprint planning by working closely with Product Owners and Development Teams.
  • Develop User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans and strategies, ensuring proper test coverage.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) to verify that all functionalities are thoroughly tested.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and defect triage, ensuring rapid resolution of issues.
  • Support developers and QA teams by clarifying requirements throughout the SDLC.
  • Create and maintain a repository of reusable requirement artifacts to support future initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain verbose system requirement specifications (SRS) and ensure they are well-documented for future reference.
  • Provide verbal and written Executive Summaries for leadership on status updates, changes, and incidents.


Leadership

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation to enhance system efficiency.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation and tenacity to drive projects forward.
  • Stay informed of emerging industry trends and best practices, particularly in healthcare technology and regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, PHIPA).
  • Advocate for best practices in business analysis, Agile methodologies, and software development lifecycles (SDLC).


Professional Experience & Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant experience and/or equivalent work experience preferably in a software development or project delivery environment and Agile, Lean or Kanban practice & principles experience
  • Experience in waterfall and other non-agile and Agile project methodologies
  • Knowledge of scrum framework and Agile development methods/techniques
  • Knowledge and experience in healthcare
  • Cross-group collaboration and interpersonal team skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Business Analysis certification is an asset
