Our client, a leading industrial construction company, is seeking a Structural Technologist to join their team. As a Structural Technologist, you will be part of the drafting team supporting the engineering and fabrication departments. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in 3D drafting software.

Job Title: Structural Technologist

Location: MacLellans Brook, NS

Pay Range: Commensurate with experience

What's the Job?

  • Review client tender packages, creating material pick sheets and providing estimation of material costs and time required to produce drawing packages.
  • Review document packages and produce engineering designs and drawings.
  • Produce fabrication drawings and cut lists for structural components and assemblies.
  • Responsible to supervise and review drawing packages and cut lists produced by draftspersons.
  • Work with project management and engineering on design build projects.

What's Needed?

  • Certified Engineering Technologist or Certified Engineering Technician preferred.
  • Mechanical Drafting diploma, as a minimal requirement.
  • Proficient knowledge of Autodesk Rivet (an asset) / TEKLA Structures (preferred) or similar 3D drafting software required.
  • Knowledge of structural fabrication, connection detailing and industrial construction considered a strong asset.
  • Ability to read contract documents and drawings required to produce engineered & shop drawings.
  • Ability to perform mathematical equations as related to design detailing.
  • Willingness and ability to work to a deadline in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail required.
  • +3 years' experience required.
