What you'll do

  • Perform studies, experiments, research, and tests to design and develop navigation and bridge systems for commercial and military customers.
  • Create and update mechanical designs based on commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and military-grade products, as well as customized solutions.
  • Collaborate with the CAD team to produce drawings and documentation for mechanical designs.
  • Develop and maintain company standards, best practices, and parts databases for mechanical engineering.
  • Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on standards and best practices.
  • Prepare plans, calculations, specifications, and material lists for assigned projects.
  • Review and ensure designs meet industry and government standards, as well as customer and budgetary requirements.
  • Support testing, prototype fabrication, and detailed design preparation by providing technical guidance to internal teams and suppliers.
  • Execute engineering change requests (CRs) and communicate technical solutions clearly across departments.
  • Adhere to environmental, health, and safety guidelines in all workplace activities.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, analysis, and manufacturing.
  • Expertise in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and tools like FEA and MathCAD.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and experience in vibration, shock, thermal, and structural analysis.
  • Knowledge of marine and shipbuilding standards (e.g., IMO, Lloyd's Rules) is a plus.
