Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Geotechnical Engineer (Mining & Rock Mechanics) to join their team located in North Bay Ontario (Relocation assistance offered for Canadian Citizen). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in rock mechanics, with a strong background in geological or mining engineering.


Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement geomechanical site investigations.
  • Conduct rock mass classification and select geomechanical domains.
  • Perform numerical modelling and analyses, including stability assessments for open pit slopes and/or underground excavations.
  • Manage and coordinate projects, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required to meet client needs.


Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong technical competence in rock mechanics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop practical solutions to meet client needs.
  • Strong project management and coordination abilities.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or graduate degree in Geological or Mining Engineering.
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with PEO.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in rock mechanics.
  • Fluent communication skills in English.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in rock mechanics.
  • Experience in the consulting industry or at an operating mine.
  • Proficiency in numerical modelling.
