Located in Alberta's capital city, Edmonton, the UAH is one of Canada's leading academic health sciences centres with over 750 beds, multiple specialty services, and a large footprint that extends over five sites. Reporting to the Site Executive Director and working closely with the Senior Operating Officer and Facility Medical Director for the University of Alberta Hospital (UAH), you will be a senior professional working with a high degree of independence, providing a broad and creative perspective to identify innovative solutions and recommend best practices for identified initiatives. You will collaborate with stakeholders to deliver and achieve the desired positive business outcomes of projects within specific time frames and established budgets. A significant component of this role involves partnering with the University Hospital Foundation leadership team and acting as the key liaison responsible for preparing, consulting, and advising operational and medical leaders on funding proposals, presentations, accountability reporting, joint media events, and funded projects. With your experience in coordinating projects or teams, data analysis, performance monitoring, and evaluation methodologies, you will be accountable for preparing related reports, briefings, correspondence, and presentations. Working closely with Executive Directors, Directors, and Physician leaders, you will also develop and implement processes and change management to support the completion of projects and operational plan initiatives. Your clinical and operational experience will aid in accomplishing these objectives. The successful candidate possesses a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a healthcare profession and a clinical acute care background. A minimum of 5 years progressive healthcare and operational experience. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), time management, project management and problem-solving skills.

You have strong working knowledge and understanding of healthcare operations and strategy, and key processes at a senior level and the ability to apply knowledge and understanding of complex health system issues. You have practical experience in project management, strong organizational and implementation skills with the ability to foster relationships and partnerships with stakeholders. You are a strong problem solver and critical thinker with an ability to manage multiple complex projects using project management and organizational change management methodologies. You can lead others towards a common goal and deliver on promised actions and outcomes. A relationship builder, you have proven success developing partnerships with internal and external stakeholders across the continuum of care and beyond. You possess strong technical skills working with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to present information suitable to the appropriate audiences. You have a clear pattern of professional development and a commitment to providing responsive, quality services.

Graduate degree in health services leadership, business administration, or evidence of working to completion of the same.
