Who We Are

After four decades of home building excellence, Cachet has earned a reputation as an award-winning developer and builder of master-planned communities across Southern Ontario. From the very beginning, our principles have been guided by a distinctive vision of how new homes should be crafted; a vision that combines innovative architecture, superior craftsmanship, exceptional quality features and finishes, and outstanding customer care. Since 1981, Cachet has developed and built thousands of new homes—and we remain committed to enriching the lives of families by building visionary communities they will be proud to call home.

The environment at Cachet is dynamic, engaging, rewarding, and team oriented. We strive to ensure Cachet is a great place to work for all our team members and are committed to building a best-in-class, values-driven organization that positively impacts the lives of our employees, customers, communities, and environment.

Your Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, customer-centric leader to use their interpersonal skills and residential construction experience to enhance the Homeowner Experience at Cachet Homes. Reporting to the Senior Home Service Manager, the Home Service Manager is responsible for supervising the day-to-day completion of deficiency repair work during the statutory warranty period for the homes we build in our communities.

We are looking for a leader who is personable, organized, and driven to inspire a highly-skilled team of service professionals in a fast-paced, innovative, quality-focused environment and leverage the pride they take in implementing and supporting the delivery of industry-leading customer care at Cachet Homes.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the Home Service Team to ensure deficiency repair work is being completed promptly and efficiently in accordance with TARION Warranty Corporation standards.
  • Review, assess, and organize all assigned work related to warranty deficiency work orders.
  • Develop and maintain a superior level of industry knowledge as it relates to TARION guidelines and delivery of service.
  • Meet regularly with the Home Service Team to review aging reports, ensure completion of work orders, and assess future labour requirements.
  • Prioritize resolution of TARION conciliations and other escalated claims/concerns.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with trade partners and suppliers.
  • Approve product and service orders, monitor spending, and maintain adherence to project budgets.
  • Monitor and assess staffing needs and recruit talent as needed.
  • Assess employee performance and provide appropriate feedback, correction, and development opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a superior level of employee engagement and team morale.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to the Home Service Team.
  • Oversee the training and development of new team members and apprentices.
  • Participate in developing and initiating innovative service delivery strategies.

What You Bring:

  • 3-5 years supervising a residential construction service team OR 5+ years’ experience as a post-closing service technician or service coordinator in residential construction or similar field.
  • Enthusiastic and friendly, with a demonstrated customer-centric orientation and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency with experience in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Prior experience working with NewStar Enterprise and BuilderGo is an asset.
  • Expert knowledge of and/or demonstrated proficiency in multiple skilled trades, including carpentry, drywall installation and finishing, painting, caulking, ceramic tile installation, and knowledge of related tools and equipment.
  • Expert knowledge of TARION Warranty Corporation and experience dealing with the statutory warranty claim process.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess quality workmanship and ensure repair work is executed in a workmanlike manner that meet or exceed TARION standards.
  • Superior ability to analyze and employ available resources and sound judgement to determine warrantable items and problem solve various issues of a time sensitive nature.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to recognize and meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent ability to maintain a positive and proactive attitude while handling the stress of multiple demands and working under tight timelines.
  • Superior conflict resolution skills with experience de-escalating highly emotional situations while maintaining personal composure.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and the ability to inspire and mentor others.
  • Flexible, with the willingness and ability to travel daily to assigned sites and work at locations across Cachet’s geographic location.
  • Must be respectful, empathetic, service-oriented, with a genuine desire to go above and beyond for our customers while demonstrating the Cachet Core Values.
