Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced UX Manager to lead our design team in creating user-centric, high-quality designs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in UX design and demonstrated experience in people leadership. This role requires a balance of strategic thinking, creative vision, and the ability to manage and inspire a growing team of designers.

Responsibilities
  • Expand the influence of UX across the product development team
  • Develop UX strategies that align with the team's objectives to minimize cycle time, increase throughput, and maximize value delivered to clients.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of UX designers.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
  • Oversee project management activities, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Lead recruitment activities for UX professionals
  • Assist with recruitment activities for Product and Engineering professionals.
  • Develop and maintain team processes and workflows.
  • Design applications and websites across multiple devices with a focus on layout, typography, color, and accessibility.
  • Conduct and analyze user research to inform design decisions.
  • Host and facilitate design workshops.
  • Handle multiple tasks on different projects efficiently.
  • Work closely with developers, stakeholders, and other team members to ensure designs are feasible and aligned with project goals.
  • Maintain and evolve design systems.
  • Understand and utilize design tokens and the 8pt system.
  • Be proficient in Figma and up-to-date with the latest features (variants, complex components, Auto-Layout).
  • Have a basic understanding of HTML and CSS to facilitate effective collaboration with developers.
  • Be knowledgeable in responsive design principles and Bootstrap components.
  • Use tools such as Figma, FigJam, Zeroheight, HTML, CSS, Google Slides, Google Website, Jira and Adobe Suite.
  • Have an interest in AI for design.
  • Ensure high-quality deliverables and outcomes.
  • Implement best practices for data tables and persona development.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in UX design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in SaaS and cloud-based applications (web and mobile)
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring a team.
  • Extensive experience collaborating with developers and stakeholders.
  • Experience in maintaining and working with design systems.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple product teams and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards and best practices.
  • Experience with AI tools and their application in designing an asset
  • Familiarity with Google Website and Google Slides for presentation and collaboration is an asset

Stage 1: 30-minute Recruiter Interview

Stage 2: Take Home Assessment

You will be preparing a presentation or portfolio that showcases your work, focusing on Enterprise SaaS applications. This will help us understand your skills and approach to UX design in our context.

Stage 3: 1-hour Interview


You'll present your portfolio to our Director of Software Development, Jason, and UI/UX Developer, Claudia. The remaining time will be dedicated to questions about your experience. This is a great opportunity to showcase your skills and discuss your approach to UX practices.

Stage 4: 1-hour Final Interview

You’ll meet our Group Product Manager, Dave, and Software Engineering Manager, Maryam, to discuss your professional background and experience. This session also highlights our focus on collaboration and teamwork, allowing you to see how well you fit into our collaborative culture.

Stage 5: References

We'll check your references to confirm all the great things we've learned about you.
