Licensed Practical Nurse

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Current certification for BGM and I.V. Initiation and Management, Bladder scanning and completion of Blood Modules, Conscious Sedation Modules completed MLL. Must have demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills. Works well as a team member. Flexible in adapting to changes in workload and assignment as required. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Experience with Meditech and Continuum. Participates as a member of the multidisciplinary team. Good physical health - lifting required.
Preference will be given to candidates working in environments at increased scope of practice. One or more years of nursing experience. There is opportunity to cross train to other nursing departments.
