Your challenge:

Working closely with the Equipment Team, the Project Engineer - Equipment will actively be leading the execution of equipment design projects through their full lifecycle (from design to delivery).

While developing the most effective HVAC-R solutions for several marine projects, the Equipment Engineer will also support the team in resolving client technical issues and concerns.

  • Designs and selection of specialized refrigeration, cooling, heating, or ventilation components required for military and commercial applications
  • Selection of refrigeration system components
  • Performs calculations (or supports calculations) of equipment performance characteristics, resilience to shock and vibrations, structural strength, center of gravity, cooling and heating capacities, pressure drops, heat loads and other client driven requirements ;
  • Works with mechanical designers to prepare final drawings, Bill of Materials for procurement, Technical Specifications Data Sheets, P&IDs, Single line and double line diagrams, and all other supporting documentation required in the contract;
  • Conduct configuration control on Engineering documents;
  • Develops refrigeration system control philosophies
  • Designs test procedures to validate the efficacy of equipment including the design of procedures to meet Military Specifications;
  • Oversees the development and testing of the equipment and/or prototype;
  • May be called to support Start up / Commissioning of the HVAC and Refrigeration systems or perform onboard inspections and audits.

What sets you apart?

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • 4-7years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience and knowledge in refrigeration system design
  • Experience in design of refrigeration equipment such as: water-cooled condensing units, unit coolers, chilled water plants, cold and cool refrigerated store rooms.
  • Experience in refrigeration pipe sizing and routing
  • Excellent 2D and 3D design skills.
  • Familiar with AutoCAD and Inventor or SolidWork
  • Bilingual English and French.
  • Must be able to meet security clearance requirements.

Votre défi :

En étroite collaboration avec l'équipe Équipement, l'ingénieur de projet - Équipement dirigera activement l'exécution des projets de conception d'équipements tout au long de leur cycle de vie (de la conception à la livraison).

Tout en développant les solutions CVC-R les plus efficaces pour plusieurs projets marins, l'ingénieur en équipement aidera également l'équipe à résoudre les problèmes et préoccupations techniques des clients.

  • Conception et sélection de composants spécialisés de réfrigération, de refroidissement, de chauffage ou de ventilation requis pour les applications militaires et commerciales
  • Sélection des composants du système de réfrigération
  • Effectuer des calculs (ou prend en charge les calculs) des caractéristiques de performance de l'équipement, de la résilience aux chocs et aux vibrations, de la résistance structurelle, du centre de gravité, des capacités de refroidissement et de chauffage, des chutes de pression, des charges thermiques et d'autres exigences du client ;
  • Travailler avec les concepteurs mécaniques pour préparer les dessins finaux, la nomenclature pour l'approvisionnement, les fiches techniques des spécifications, les P&ID, les schémas unifilaires et bifilaires et toute autre documentation justificative requise dans le contrat ;
  • Effectuer le contrôle de la configuration sur les documents d'ingénierie ;
  • Élaborer des philosophies de contrôle du système de réfrigération
  • Concevoir des procédures de test pour valider l'efficacité de l'équipement, y compris la conception de procédures pour répondre aux spécifications militaires ;
  • Superviser le développement et les tests de l'équipement et/ou du prototype ;
  • Peut être appelé à soutenir le démarrage/la mise en service des systèmes CVC et de réfrigération ou à effectuer des inspections et des audits à bord.

Qu'est-ce qui vous distingue ?

  • Baccalauréat en génie mécanique.
  • 4 à 7 ans d'expérience dans un rôle similaire.
  • Expérience et connaissances en conception de systèmes de réfrigération
  • Expérience en conception d'équipements de réfrigération tels que : unités de condensation refroidies par eau, refroidisseurs d'unité, usines d'eau glacée, chambres froides et réfrigérées.
  • Expérience en dimensionnement et routage de tuyaux de réfrigération
  • Excellentes compétences en conception 2D et 3D.
  • Familiarité avec AutoCAD et Inventor ou SolidWork
  • Bilingue anglais et français. Communications fréquentes avec les bureaux et clients nord-américains
  • Être en mesure de satisfaire aux exigences de sécurité.
