Hours: 8am-4pm

Job Description:

Reporting to the VP of Engineering and Compliance, the Avionics Engineer / Technologist will be responsible for

avionics and electrical design, analysis, testing, certification, and project management as well as ensuring all

avionics and electrical technical solutions meet customer, regulatory and company requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Create and review design and certification data packages, including technical drawings, installation manuals, Instructions for Continuing Airworthiness, flight manuals, test plans, test reports, technical analyses, substantiation reports, certification plans, etc.
  • Manage engineering projects utilizing both internal and external resources ensuring successful project

completion.

  • Provide technical support to customers, installers, and the Customer Support team in support of the installation and certification of aeronautical products.
  • Remain current on new Avionics technical solutions based on customer inputs and latest trends in avionics technology.
  • Attend trade shows, workshops and training courses as directed by the company to ensure knowledge and skills are current.
  • Independently conduct research and communicate with vendors and manufacturers to update understanding of aircraft and avionics products.
  • Mentor less experienced colleagues.
  • Comply with, and assist in the development of, internal processes and procedures to ensure consistency and support continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and operation of a TCCA DAO.
  • Adhere to regulatory/professional standards and company policies.

Required Skill, Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, Diploma or equivalent in a related field (e.g. Aerospace, Avionics, Electrical, etc.)
  • Eligibility for certification under APEGA or ASET.
  • Minimum of 3 years aviation/aerospace avionics or electrical engineering experience.
  • Ability to create documents/technical drawings using MS Office Suite and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and effectively handle changing priorities.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • A high degree of cultural awareness, respect, and sensitivity.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team within an open office environment.

Preference will be given to applicants who also possess:

  • Part 27 or 29 Helicopter completions and/or STC experience.
  • General aviation aircraft completions and/or STC experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Vault.
  • Experience as an installer of avionics systems in addition to Engineering qualifications and experience.
