Interior Health is hiring a term-specific part-time Leader, Quality and Patient Safety who is passionate about making a difference in healthcare. The end date of this position is approximately March 31, 2026.

Salary range for the position is $74,618 to $107,264. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.
How will you create an impact:
The Leader, Quality and Patient Safety (Leader) plays a crucial role in the department by coordinating, facilitating, supporting quality, patient safety, and accreditation activities for the local Clinical Operations and Quality & Patient Safety (Q&PS) teams. This position involves working with the healthcare team to implement local improvements by supporting small tests of change, collecting, collating, and presenting data, maintaining relevant materials and information, and tracking and updating teams on initiatives and progress. The Leader fosters and facilitates collaboration across all levels of the site and program to build relationships, share information, and enhance knowledge. Additionally, the role includes organizing and coordinating local committees, working groups, and meetings to support various quality and patient safety initiatives.
In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to your manager or supervisor immediately.
What will you work on:
• Collaborates with and takes direction from Q&PS Leaders and/or Consultants and local Clinical Operations and Medical Staff Leadership to facilitate Quality and Patient Safety activities.
• Facilitates and provides support for local working groups and meetings for their various quality and patient safety initiatives.
• Liaises with internal and external partners to facilitate and support quality improvement and patient safety projects.
• Provides consultation, guidance, and support to teams in the use of tools, and mechanisms to plan, test, measure, monitor and evaluate initiatives designed to improve patient outcomes.
• Collects, collates, and presents data to inform site-level quality and patient safety activities.
• Works with the Q&PS team to review patient safety and relevant patient experience data for trends, communicates trends to site leadership, and supports action plans.
• Performs a leadership role in the integration of accreditation standards, processes, and related improvement priorities with program leads.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Qualfications
Education, Training and Experience
• Successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant and related discipline.
• Minimum of three (3) years recent related project experience within a large, complex service organization.
• Experience working in health sector is a strong asset.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Skills and Abilities
• Demonstrated experience in collecting, analyzing, and evaluating data, information processes, and systems and making recommendations for system improvement.
• Self-directed with effective organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
• Knowledge of the delivery of care in a health setting.
• Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a highly dynamic, fast-paced, continually changing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to guide individuals toward the vision of the organization while fostering teamwork and commitment to excellence in the provision of care.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrated ability to identify variances and implement strategies that lead to desired outcomes.
• Ability to effectively evaluate processes and systems and provide support in planning and implementation.
• Ability to apply the problem-solving process, demonstrating critical thinking, decision-making skills, and systems analysis.
• Ability to utilize computer programs (Word processing, email, Internet, spreadsheets).
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
