THE POSITION
AWARD Construction Ltd. is seeking an experienced Project Director to join our team. Reporting to the Chief Construction Officer, the Project Director oversees the strategic planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects from inception to completion. This is an exciting opportunity to have a leadership role in a growing company, working on large-scale commercial and residential construction projects.

The ideal candidate is a technically savvy leader with a track record of successful project management or major building construction projects. AWARD is a growing company and requires a candidate who can lead and operate in an environment where change occurs frequently, is able to manage multiple priorities, and can handle challenges in a dynamic business environment. We are looking for someone who is committed to ensuring exceptional client service outcomes and holding teams accountable to deliver projects on-time, within budget, and to AWARD’s quality standards.

Responsibilities & Deliverables
Project Planning & Strategy: Developing comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resources, and budget allocations. Setting project goals and objectives, aligning with company strategy and client needs.
Leadership & Team Management: Managing, coordinating, and developing project teams, including contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. Communicating expectations for performance and holding team members accountable for outcomes.
Client Liaison: Serving as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships, understanding their needs, and ensuring requirements are met. Resolving any issues that arise during the project promptly and effectively.
Financial & Risk Management: Overseeing project budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met, identifying and mitigating risks. and implementing cost-saving measures where appropriate. Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
Contract Management: Negotiating contracts with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers. Ensuring all contracts are fulfilled in accordance with company standards and project requirements.
Continuous Improvement: Assessing project outcomes and processes to identify and implement best practices for efficiency, continuous improvement, and innovation.

Skills, Knowledge, & Experience
10+ years’ experience in the construction industry, with a significant portion of that time in a leadership or management role, overseeing large-scale projects. Experience across a range of projects, including commercial, industrial, and multi-family residential is preferred.
Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) considered an asset.
Deep understanding of construction processes, materials, regulations, and safety standards.
Skilled in project management principles and tools to plan, execute, and oversee projects efficiently.
Strong financial acumen with understanding of financial management, budgeting, and cost control in construction projects.
Ability to lead diverse teams and manage subcontractors and stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.
Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships and effectively manage client expectations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues effectively and efficiently.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Willing to travel and work flexible hours, as required.
