Our client, an established public sector organisation is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their team.


The Senior Project Manager - Cybersecurity will oversee and drive the execution of cybersecurity projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires an individual with extensive experience in project management, governance, and cybersecurity. The successful candidate will be responsible for project planning, stakeholder management, and aligning project outcomes with organizational goals.


This is a permanent role and will be hybrid 2-3 days a week in Toronto.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage cybersecurity projects from initiation to closure, ensuring all project objectives are met.
  • Governance: Establish and enforce project governance standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational policies.
  • Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with key stakeholders, including clients, team members, and executives, to ensure project alignment and transparency.
  • Budget Management: Oversee project budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial constraints.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring proactive measures are in place to address potential issues.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, providing regular updates and reports to stakeholders.
  • Team Coordination: Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project charters, status reports, and post-project evaluations.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years focused on cybersecurity projects.
  • Public Sector: Experience working on cybersecurity projects within the public sector is highly desirable.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification required. CISSP, CISM, or other relevant cybersecurity certifications preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results.
