Title: Business Systems Advisor

Location: Mississauga, ON | Hybrid - 2-3 days in office, 2-3 days remote

Full-Time Direct Hire

Reporting to the Managing Director, this role drives necessary IT and other technological changes, updates, and integrations to internal and external stakeholders; and actively participates in large-scale company goals, technical tasks, and projects from ship to shore.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the successful implementation of major IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations, and outages.
  • Develop an understanding of our client’s business processes, and work with internal teams to identify opportunities for system and application integrations to improve and streamline operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise with systems and their integrations, working closely with the IT team and external partners to ensure a timely resolution.
  • Adapting to unique challenges of maritime environments, including satellite communications, and limited internet access.
  • Manage onboarding and off-boarding processes including setting up IT accounts, emails, and access permissions for employees as appropriate.
  • Oversee the procurement, distribution, and maintenance of IT equipment.
  • Maintaining an accurate inventory of all software licenses, ensuring compliance with legal and vendor requirements.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to integrations including process manuals, templates, user guides, and training materials.


Qualifications

  • Experience in system and application integration.
  • IT project management experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of data structures and integration best practices.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy laws.
  • Experience with supporting the management and execution of technology implementation and integration projects, professional project management certification/project management experience is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge/exposure of enterprise SaaS business systems like Salesforce, Resco, and other business-oriented software solutions.
  • Proficient in system analysis, design, and implementation methodologies, including experience with API protocols and schemas.
  • Familiarity with shipboard network infrastructure or demonstrated interest in acquiring such knowledge.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and energized by collaborating with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Willingness to contribute as a member of a compact yet powerful team – where all team members actively participate in fulfilling the operational requirements for our success.


Education

  • College diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
