We are seeking an experienced Commercial Project Manager with a PMP qualification to lead cross-functional, commercially focused, and complex projects across our organization. Based in Guelph, ON, this role is pivotal in driving project-related activities, from ideation through to final execution, and ensuring operational alignment in a fast-paced service industry environment.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee commercial projects spanning various functions, including Sales, Marketing, Sales Operations, and Finance ensuring alignment with strategic business goals.
  • Champion best practices in project management through the creation of structure, accountability, and discipline across our commercial projects while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead the development and implementation of project plans, including defining project scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, prioritize projects, and communicate project progress and insights to stakeholders.
  • Provide project insights, case studies, and success stories to showcase the organization's capabilities and support sales and marketing efforts.
  • Effectively manage project budgets, resources, and timelines, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budgetary constraints.
  • Cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with departments across the organization to facilitate seamless project execution and knowledge sharing.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management processes, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proactively identify potential risks and develop risk management strategies to minimize project disruptions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.


Education, Training & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Proven experience in project management within a fast-paced service industry, preferably in pet care or related sectors.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage complex problems and processes in a way all others can digest.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, manage multiple priorities, and drive results under tight deadlines.


Skills & Abilities:

  • Project Management: Demonstrated proficiency in project management methodologies to oversee a full project from planning and development through to implementation. This includes defining project scope, timelines, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Project documentation and reporting: Proficiency in documenting project requirements, specifications, and outcomes. Prepare regular progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for stakeholders to track project milestones and performance metrics.
  • Technical capabilities: Proficient in project management software Asana as well as PowerBI for reporting.
  • Strategic planning: ability to devise a comprehensive, feasible strategy that aligns with project goals and objectives. This involves understanding requirements, evaluating project scope, and formulating an actionable plan.
  • Resource management: Ability to gauge the resources needed, coordinate team focus and resource allocation, and ensure time is used effectively and efficiently.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams; ability to inspire and motivate the team, resolve conflicts, and steer the project toward its objectives.
  • Commercial expertise: Proven ability to lead revenue-generating and growth projects, understanding key revenue drivers and functions supporting top-line growth.
  • Prioritization and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Communication skills: Clear, concise, and persuasive, as well as verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management to drive consensus and project success.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making: Strong critical thinking skills to identify issues, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions.
  • Adaptability and learning agility: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs in a dynamic environment.
