Caregiver for Outings and Activities in the Community

LOOKING FOR CAREGIVERS TO WORK IN THESE AREAS:

We have two programs with Caregiver positions available in this area:

  1. FHA Outings and Activity DSP:
    • Provide support and companionship one-on-one with an adult with intellectual or developmental disabilities out in the community doing activities like: outings/field trips, activities and events, shopping and eating out, developmental goal-based activities. Individuals in this program are high-functioning and typically do not need hands-on support with personal hygiene.
    • Schedule: Part-time and full-time available; Schedule is very flexible – Shifts are in the late afternoon/evenings on weekdays and during the day on weekends – weekend availability is required for this position
    • Pay Rate: $16.40/hour plus mileage reimbursement for using your vehicle for outings (you will get more mileage reimbursement with this program)
  2. Caregiver for Adult Day Program:
    • Community-Based program: this program serves adults with developmental disabilities (such as Autism or Down’s Syndrome, etc.). Caregivers take a small group of 2-3 individuals out into the community to do a variety of activities and outings. Some individuals served may need assistance with personal hygiene or mobility.
    • Schedule: Mon-Fri daytime hours (such as 8a-2p); positions are all full-time
    • Pay rate: $18.10/hour plus mileage reimbursement for using your vehicle for outings;
    • Alternate pay rate: $19.10 per hour working with highly behavioral individuals – to qualify for this rate must have verifiable experience working directly with challenging behaviors (ABA experience or knowledge preferred)

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SEVITA

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED/equivalent
  • Experience: Six months of experience in human services or direct care preferred
  • License: Valid CA driver’s license in good standing; must have had driver’s license for at least one year
  • Vehicle: Access to a reliable vehicle with registered vehicle with proof of insurance
  • Clearances: Must be able to pass criminal and driver history background checks and a physical and TB test
  • Skills: Communication, multi-tasking, adaptability, teamwork, time management
  • Behaviors: Patient, compassionate, reliable, responsible
