The Role:

The ideal candidate will have the following background, skills, and attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Systems Design, Mechanical, Electrical), Architecture, or a related field.
  • 10+ years in engineering design, production, and/or review of compliance evidence within regulated industries for major railway and transit projects.
  • Client interaction, including face-to-face meetings and leading presentations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, ACC/BIM360, ProjectWise, Autodesk Civil 3D, and other BIM tools.
  • Familiarity with ISO 19650 BIM standards (ISO19650:1, ISO19650:2, ISO19650:3).
  • Managing team leaders and senior CAD/BIM staff from various offices and disciplines.
  • Knowledge of BIM quality assurance guidelines and standards.
  • Support for National/Regional BIM standards and asset management using BIM.
  • Experience with rail and transit projects, design automation, and production technology.
  • Proven leadership, management skills, and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Adaptability to project and deadline changes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, leadership, and report writing skills.
  • Experience in a consulting engineering environment is a plus.
  • Methodical and proactive assignment planning and delivery.
  • Critical assessment of projects and complex situations, identifying solutions.
  • Clear, concise, and non-confrontational communication.
  • Developing and maintaining good working relationships.
  • Leading client meetings, negotiating, and agreeing on key requirements.
  • Conflict resolution management.
  • Technical and project management leadership and mentoring.
  • Leading and developing team members.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent time management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct ONxpress BIM team on BIM/CAD deliverables.
  • Update PA and associated requirements for BIM/CAD activities.
  • Guide Metrolinx team on design activities.
  • Interface with Engineering and Asset Management teams to integrate their needs.
  • Schedule and lead audits of BIM deliverables (models/drawings).
  • Ensure alignment with GOE Systems requirements.
