We are currently looking for a KMS Support Engineer to join one of our major clients, an international bank based in Montreal.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a KMS Support Engineer with strong expertise in Key Management Systems and cryptographic infrastructure. This position is ideal for candidates with in-depth experience operating and supporting KMS/HSM platforms, particularly Thales CipherTrust Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring production stability, maintaining secure key lifecycle processes, and contributing to security analysis and documentation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate, maintain, and support the Key Management System (KMS) infrastructure
  • Evaluate, design, develop, deploy, test, and transition KMS-related security capabilities and processes
  • Deliver and maintain technical documentation related to KMS engineering and operations
  • Provide expert-level support for all security processes related to KMS/HSM platforms
  • Ensure compliance with internal security policies, technical baselines, and control standards
  • Support the Service Delivery Management activities for the platform
  • Participate in security investigations and audits in relation to KMS
  • Collaborate with IT architects and security teams to ensure secure integration of key management functions

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years of professional experience in the technology field, including 5+ years in cybersecurity
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience deploying and managing KMS and HSM solutions
  • Proven expertise with Thales CipherTrust Manager or equivalent enterprise-grade KMS platforms
  • Experience governing KMS/HSM projects and lifecycle management
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python
  • Strong understanding of encryption, cryptographic key lifecycle, and compliance standards
  • Experience with technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base creation
  • Ability to communicate complex security architectures to diverse technical and non-technical audiences
  • Security certifications (such as CISSP, CISM) are a plus
  • Team leadership experience is a plus

NICE-TO-HAVE:

  • Experience in automating key lifecycle operations
  • Familiarity with cloud-native key management integrations (e.g., AWS KMS, Azure Key Vault)
  • Exposure to audit and compliance controls related to cryptographic services

OTHER:

  • Candidates must be located or willing to relocate to Montreal
  • Hybrid position with 3 days on-site per week
  • Fluency in English
