SUMMARY

The Controller is a senior member of the Shared Services team who works very closely with senior leadership and our accounts team ensuring the company’s finance function fuels our decisions. They organize, produce, and communicate a detailed record of the company’s operations, and more importantly, help us understand what our future will look like. The Controller oversees and organizes the system and people that produces timely and accurate financial reporting and forecasting and work closely with members of senior leadership to shape to future of the organization.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. Oversee all organizational accounting and reporting and staff
  2. Work directly with the VP, Operations to manage critical company data and ratios, like gross margin
  3. Communicate and collaborate regularly with the senior leadership team.
  4. Create quarterly Board reports and lead financial presentations to the board
  5. Lead relationships with banks, auditors, tax advisors and authorities
  6. Liaise with client teams on financial matters
  7. Lead and support all shareholder reporting
  8. Manage support or oversee equity transactions and company valuation
  9. Support and manage treasury functions
  10. Be a critical part of a highly functioning team charged with building a growing and successful marketing agency
WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • A person looking to grow into a C-suite role
  • Post-Secondary Degree and Accounting Designation
  • 7+ years' experience in a workplace setting, with preference for experience in a job cost setting
  • Experience in an advertising agency is a plus
  • Experience in multi entity and multi-currency accounting
  • Thorough understanding of financial statement preparation and analysis
  • Thorough understanding accounting processes and procedures
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Developing ability in presentations including use of associated applications including business reporting and data management, and presentation software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Strong desire and ability to grow and to grow a team
  • Understanding of and ability to manage and oversee data in a multi-application ERP environment.
