Job description

Overview:

Reporting to the Garden Project Coordinator, Cultivation in Acheson, AB, the Cannabis Trimmer is responsible for the care and growth lifecycle of cannabis plants within a licensed facility. The Trimmer performs tasks to support growing processes including but not limited to cloning, pruning, defoliation, and transplanting ensuring production of high quality, healthy and prolific cannabis plants. The Trimmer maintains a clean healthy and pleasant environment where plants and people can grow. The Trimmer may also be required to be generally available to assist in other areas of the production process and the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean the crops
  • Mixing fertilizer
  • Train trees to produce more fruit of higher quality
  • Write daily basic progress reports
  • Assist in pruning trees, shrubs and plants
  • Mix and prepare soils
  • Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings
  • Apply fertilizers
  • Report signs of insect or disease damage
  • Clean work area
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas
  • Organize tasks to accomplish the work
  • Follow emergency and safety procedures
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Assist process control and machine operators in performing their duties
  • Ensure hygiene and sanitation practices conform to policies and regulations
  • Consult with production supervisor to schedule production runs in a cost and time-efficient manner
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance to accounting standards, procedures and internal control
  • Clean and maintain work space
  • Check products and packaging for basic quality defects
  • Communicate with other workers to co-ordinate the preparation and completion of work assignments
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations
  • Oversee preparation of site for species cultivation

Pay: $17.00-$18.00 per hour
