Ambulatory (OM) Business Analyst – Meditech Expanse

Mandatory Skills for the Role:

  1. Recent Design and Build Experience in MEDITECH Expanse (WPL v2.2 preferred):
  • In-depth experience in designing and building Meditech Expanse, particularly in the OM (Order Management) and PCS (Patient Care System) modules.
  • Preference for experience with MEDITECH Expanse WPL (v2.2).
  1. Healthcare IT Systems and Operational Support:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare IT systems, with a particular focus on clinical EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems.
  • Experience in providing operational support for large-scale healthcare IT systems and applications.
  1. Project Management Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in managing complex healthcare IT projects, particularly those focused on the implementation of clinical business systems.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple workstreams, manage resources, and ensure the successful integration of project activities.
  1. Experience with Clinical EHR Implementations:
  • Proven ability in leading clinical design and build activities for Meditech Expanse, especially in the OM and PCS modules.
  • Experience in optimizing clinical workflows and aligning the technical design with clinical requirements.
  1. Risk and Issue Management:
  • Expertise in identifying project risks, creating mitigation strategies, and ensuring that risks and issues are resolved promptly throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Experience with escalating issues appropriately and managing project governance processes.
  1. Test Case Design and Integration Testing:
  • Ability to participate in the design of test cases, execute integration testing, and report on issues or bugs that arise during testing phases.
  • Knowledge of testing procedures and tools to ensure application functionality and integration across systems.
  1. Cutover Planning and Oversight:
  • Experience in managing cutover planning, ensuring a seamless transition from legacy systems to new Meditech Expanse modules with minimal disruptions.
  1. Knowledge Transition to Internal Resources:
  • Ability to transfer knowledge effectively to internal Fraser Health resources, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the project.
  • Experience mentoring and guiding internal staff for knowledge transfer and supporting onboarding activities.
  1. Communication Skills:
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, project managers, and external vendors.
  1. Experience with Meditech Expanse, Jira:
  • Experience with Meditech Expanse (OM and PCS modules) is essential.
  • Proficiency with Jira for managing tasks, tracking progress, and reporting on project milestones.
  1. PMP Certification (Preferred):
  • PMP certification is an asset, though not mandatory. It would be beneficial for project planning and execution.
  1. Experience in Project Reporting and Documentation:
  • Ability to create and maintain project artifacts such as project plans, risk logs, action items, and deliverables logs.
