Our client is one of the world’s largest manufacturer of sustainable wood-based building products, with over 50 facilities in North America and Europe. They have been around for over 50 years and have close to 10,000 employees. They are looking for a General Facilities Manager for a facility in rural ontario over 15 hours drive from toronto a few hours from Manitoba border.


Responsibilities:


  • Manage a 24 hour manufacturing facility / plant operations including operational improvement plans, improving cost management and managing short and long-term goals.
  • Manage staffing, HR issues and professional development of the management team.
  • Environmental compliance
  • Develop and oversee the plant's operating plan and budgets aligned with divisional and company strategies.


Requirements:


  • Relevant undergraduate education
  • 10 years of senior leadership experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Wood products manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor and inspire staff members
  • Able to maintain a culture of safety
