Position Summary:

Reporting to the Mechanical Project Manager, the Jr. Project Manager will be responsible for operational duties and reporting for the business unit. This position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, exercising judgment and initiative and involves multi-tasking. This position works as a liaison between operations and finance and must possess knowledge of policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support the regional team with all project coordination requirements.
  2. Maintain and promote excellent relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and the public.
  3. Track progress of work being performed by multiple disciplines.
  4. Use project scheduling tools to monitor projects plans, budget, and expenditures.
  5. Keep Senior Project Managers, Project Manager, and others informed about project status and issues.
  6. Site work/visits will be required.
  7. Perform weekly/monthly site inspections to check on project performance and safety.
  8. Assist in the development of process improvement tools that will be used by the team.
  9. Deliver and coordinate all procurement orders with the Ainsworth procurement team.
  10. Support the team with administrative duties as required.
  11. Manage the closeout process for projects/WO.
  12. Responsible for leading the project maintenance and contract documentation.
  13. Mechanical experience is considered an asset.
  14. Some estimating experience would be considered an asset.
  15. Experience with Procore would be considered an asset.

Requirements:

  1. Education degree or technical college diploma/degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.
  2. 3+ years' relevant experience as a Project Coordinator or equivalent role within the commercial industry would be preferred.
  3. Sense of urgency and a strong commitment to achieving goals and objectives.
  4. Attention to detail and superior organization skills to work well with shifting priorities and rapid change.
  5. Strong ability to work with a highly functional team.
  6. Good communication skills both spoken and written to present data and reports to stakeholders at various levels.
  7. Valid Alberta Class 5 Drivers license.
  8. Excellent Microsoft Outlook, MS Word, and Excel skills.
