Camp dates: July 1st – August 23rd, 2024 (8:30am – 4:15pm)
*Camp will operate on Canada Day (July 1st), but not on Civic Holiday (August 5th)*

Contract Salary Range: $600 – $750/week

We are looking for a fun and organized Program Manager to join our Leadership Team for Summer Camp 2024. The Program Manager has a senior role at camp. They are integral to our Leadership Team and help to schedule and plan out the educational programming and activities for campers. They will lead a team of instructors in researching, designing, and prototyping hands-on STEAM projects and/or sport-based and outdoor education skills for our camps, focusing on skill development and aligned with curriculum and learning goals. They are responsible for ensuring that staff are prepared to lead lessons, that project lessons and materials are prepared in advance, and that camp programming is running smoothly.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Is finishing their studies in a post-secondary program or graduated
  • Has experience working with and teaching children, preferably in camps
  • Is highly organized
  • Is flexible and adaptable
  • Will maintain excellent rapport with staff, campers, and camp families
Role & Responsibilities
  • Be a positive role model as a supervisor to our Instructors and member of our Leadership Team.
  • Train and evaluate Instructors
  • Manage Instructors as they develop camp lessons and projects
  • Ensure there is high quality education and opportunities for skill development for campers
  • Oversight of the camp day
  • Liaise between Leadership Team and Instructors
Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Completed at least 2 years of post-secondary education
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role
  • Previous camp or recreation experience
  • Full weekday availability in mid May to the end of August

Considered an Asset:

  • A background or education in teaching, recreation, early childhood education, science and technology
  • Experience with hands-on skills in any of digital fabrication, woodwork, crafting, robotics, coding, electronics, VR, 2D/3D Design

Additional Requirements:

  • Access to a personal device (i.e. laptop) to complete job responsibilities
  • Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid driver’s license

This job may be funded by the Government of Canada’s Student Work Placement Program (SWPP). The SWPP program requires that candidates be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident or a protected person defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
