This position is responsible for the leadership and management of the Production functions of the company. These functions include production control, inventory control, scheduling and personnel management. The position requires a detail-oriented, self-motivated, and flexible individual that is willing to work as a team member or independently.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promotes and applies occupational health and safety practices and ensures the maintenance of a respectful work climate focused on our values and management philosophy.
  • Acts as a manager, coach, leader and agent for change, as well as a credible partner for their team members in co-operation with the Operations Management team.
  • Encourages teamwork and stimulates workers to innovate through their new ideas.
  • Ensures compliance with our high quality standards and lead times and supports our commitment to operational excellence.
  • Is responsible for achieving productivity objectives and for compliance with the department’s production plan.
  • Manages priorities in co-operation with support teams (customer service, planning, product engineering, quality assurance, continuous improvement, maintenance).
  • Follows up on back-orders and makes sure that customers receive exemplary service.
  • Leads the various daily production follow-up meetings, always with a customer-oriented perspective.
  • Manages the department’s human resources and daily assignments.
  • Conducts audits of the department.
  • Manages the department’s WIP with an overall vision.
  • Participates in the department’s continuous improvement projects.
  • Carries out all other tasks intended to add value to our operations.
  • Leads the various daily production follow-up meetings, always from a customer-driven perspective.
  • Is responsible for the labour and training plan in their sector.
  • Represent, support, and uphold the company Core Values and Management Philosophy.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrate full knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices policies and procedures
  • Must have good analytical skills
  • Must adhere to Health and Safety and enforce the standards

  • Demonstrate good communication skills
  • Be able work independently or in a team environment
  • Ability to make decisions
  • Five years of experience in leading/managing a team of employees


Under the general direction of the Production Manager the incumbent confers regularly with other staff on matters directly related to operations. The incumbent requires excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal. The incumbent works in an office environment but is exposed to elements such as noise/temperature during time spent on the plant floor collecting/exchanging information. .
