About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Social Media Manager who can help build our online communities and build our brand into a trusted source of interesting, entertaining, and helpful content. In this role, you will be responsible for leading our social strategy and the overall content, health, and engagement of our online communities. You’ll be part of our Integrated Marketing team, which owns our seasonal, brand, and experiential campaigns. You will also work closely with our creative, editorial, and product teams to develop content franchises and unique executions for social.

In this role, you’ll:

  1. Lead the social vision and strategy: Identifying and prioritizing opportunities that serve both the company needs and the wants/needs of our communities; as well as driving innovation including expansion into new/underserved platforms.
  2. Develop social campaigns and franchises: Partnering with teams across marketing to brief and develop best-in-class content that reflects social best practices. Campaigns should be insight-led and resonate with our target audience & community.
  3. Monitor trends: Staying up to date on new and emerging trends at the intersection of culture, money, social, and technology – and initiating projects quickly to take advantage of tailwinds.
  4. Own the Wealthsimple content calendar: Maintaining our content calendar and planning around key dates including product launches, important deadlines and relevant client mindset moments. Managing daily content calendars and posting cadence, ensuring posting is happening at optimal times to maximize performance and relevance.
  5. Work closely with stakeholders across all functional teams to develop creative ways to use social media to help support their priorities and distribute their content/key messages to our communities.
  6. Manage execution and social operations: Working with creative and production teams to ensure all assets are approved, delivered, trafficked and QA takes place where necessary, and for all content scheduling/publishing.
  7. Deliver ongoing reporting and insights: Monitoring performance, and providing learnings back to the team to inform ongoing and future activity.
  8. CS and comms partnership: Ensuring we’re consistently social listening and monitoring sentiment, and that the findings are captured and shared with relevant teams.
  9. Own the management of our social platforms and tools including vendor negotiations and team training.

Skills you’ll bring:

  1. A strategic mindset with a confident voice, and an authentic interest in all things money/investing/personal finance.
  2. Proven ability to work with creative teams and agencies to deliver compelling and innovative work in fast-evolving markets.
  3. A finger on the pulse of cultural and brand trends, with a proven record of integrating these insights into effective social experiences.
  4. Strong creative chops – you don’t need to be a designer or professional writer, but you do need to understand what great content looks and sounds like, and be able to work with our creative team to bring ideas to life.
  5. A collaborative approach, working with the rest of marketing, PR, and the product teams to ensure a cohesive and intentional experience across our social properties.
  6. A maker owner attitude who takes initiative and thrives in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.
  7. Experience with social media management and publishing platforms (Sprout Social - or similar and native tools).
