AlphaBee is seeking talented individuals to fill the role of a Part-Time Occupational Therapist (OT) in Toronto, Ontario. The OT is responsible for the provision of school and/or clinic based occupational assessments and therapy to our AlphaBee clients in addition to their ABA services or as a stand-alone service.

AlphaBee works with children 18 months to 18 years of age throughout the GTA, Peel, Halton Hamilton, York and surrounding regions. Our 3 centres are located in Etobicoke, Scarborough and Hamilton. Teaching happens in centre, in family homes and in daycare or school settings.

We provide ABA and other clinical services for children and youth with ASD (autism) and other developmental and behavioural challenges:

As an OT, you'll have access to:

Ideal candidate has:
  • Strong knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
    • Experience with ABA and verbal behaviour is an asset
  • You enjoy working with children, are creative and have great play skills with them
  • Superior oral and written communication skills working with different personalities
  • Commitment to post-graduate professional development
  • Apply good judgment and apply critical thinking when making client decisions
  • An interest in professional development and further developing clinical skills
  • Valid Driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle is a strongly recommended asset


Qualifications:
  • University degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
  • Require a Passed Vulnerable Police Check
  • First Aid and CPR Trained
  • CPI training (offered internally)


Responsibilities:
  • Assess and treat our clients in addition to their ABA services or as a stand-alone service
  • Support clients in development of cognitive, physical, social, and motor skills
  • Evaluate client level of ability, including learning, playing, self-care, and environmental interaction, as well as obstacles to daily activity participation.
  • Formulate goals and strategies to allow for key skill development
  • Responsible for progress notes, recording and graphing of programming data when applicable
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development as required
