Position Overview

Join IAF’s team as the Communications & Administration Co-op Student. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with our Communications and Program Delivery teams to support in creating content to bolster IAF’s communications and marketing initiatives. Additionally, this role will provide administrative support to various departments. Over the course of this co-op, you will gain experience in communications, business administration and the agriculture sector.

This position is in-person working out of IAF’s Victoria office. It is a full-time position, 37.5 hrs per week, 4-month co-op position. The hourly wage is $25.00 with a start date in September 2024.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a variety of content to support communications and marketing efforts, including newsletters, social media post, website copy, and brochures and additional materials
  • Work with staff and subject matter experts to develop relevant, meaningful content and maintain IAF’s program communication strategies and web standards
  • Coordinate and execute social media campaigns and ensure alignment with overall marketing campaign
  • Support organization to field client inquiries regarding applications and project activities
  • Support program delivery and finance teams as required with entering data and running reporting

What You Will Bring

  • Currently enrolled in a university or technical program. Preferred programs include business, business administration, communications or similar; students entering the final year of their post-secondary education are preferred
  • Experience writing, formatting and creating content for e-newsletters or similar publications is a strong asset
  • Strong writing, formatting, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of CRM and data management protocols
  • Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and anticipate the needs of the team.
  • Efficient and highly organized, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload

Eligibility Note: To qualify for a student (Co-op/Internship) opportunity, students must be enrolled in their academic studies at a post-secondary institution (university/college) and must be returning to school after completion of their work term. If you are a student registered in an official co-op program at your post-secondary institution and completion of a final work term is a mandatory component for you to graduate, you are eligible to apply with the understanding that you will leave IAF at the end of your work term or have the possibility to be considered for full-time opportunities.
