Work Arrangements: Due to the nature of the work and operational requirements, this position will require full-time physical presence at the NRC work location identified.

Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter how they meet the education and experience factors listed on the poster. Candidates must use the education/experience criteria as a header and then write one or two paragraphs demonstrating how they meet them by providing concrete examples.
In addition, the candidate is encouraged to describe in detail when, where and how he/she gained the experience. Failure to provide an appropriate cover letter will result in the rejection of your application. Candidates will not be solicited for incomplete or possible missing information.
EducationCompletion of a three-year community college diploma in Civil, Structural, Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience could be considered such as a Red Sealed Trades certification and Operations experience.
- Experience with planning, contracting and coordinating the delivery of building and site services including general maintenance, inspection, and monitoring.
- Experience managing performance of staff and actively coaching, mentoring and motivating employees and providing regular feedback on assigned work.
- Experience ensuring building, facility and site operations compliance with applicable federal, provincial and/or local regulatory requirements including building and construction codes and environment related act.
- Experience managing construction projects.
- Experience managing budget for operation, maintenance and construction projects.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve site and building issues; to prioritize and manage client requests for services; to formulate recommendations for site enhancements and upgrades; to validate compliance with standards.
- Experience preparing Requests for Proposals (RFP), Requests for Quotation (RFQ) and/or Statements of Work (SOW) for multi-year service contracts.
- Experience working with a Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Building Automation Systems (BAS) or Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
The following experience might be considered as an asset:
- Experience in managing research buildings and facilities which may include specialized labs.
- Experience and knowledge of commissioning, re-commissioning and retro-commissioning best practices and industry standards.
Candidates will be assessed on the basis of the following criteria:
- Ability to analyze and synthesize information, identify options, risks and to recommend solutions.
- Ability to supervise, coach and mentor employees.
- Knowledge of federal, provincial and/or local regulatory requirements, including building and construction codes, environment related acts.
- Knowledge of policies related to WHMIS and Occupational Health & Safety.
- Knowledge of project management principles processes and tools.
- Knowledge of financial and procurement legislation, regulations and policies.
- Knowledge of processes for managing contracts.
- Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
- Knowledge of managing building operations and maintenance activities such as using a Computerized Maintenance Management System and/or Building Automation System (BAS).

- Supervisor - Results orientation (Level 3)
