Job Title: HSE Coordinator

Reports To: HSE Manager

Location: Grande Prairie, Alberta


As a HSE Support Coordinator with Source Energy Services, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a progressive and fast-paced group of professionals in the HSE department. Working closely with the HSE Team, the position is responsible for coordinating critical data related to the HSE Operations in the field and in the facilities. The HSE Support Coordinator will be responsible for feedback to ensure continuous improvement of various systems, processes, and documents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


HSE software

  • Become a mentor/coach and provide guidance to managers and employees on the use of EHS insight;
  • Precede data entry for health assessments.

HSE data reporting and entry

  • Assist with entry of Quality, incident, near miss events;
  • Assist with entry of employee training records and competencies (Skills);
  • Assist with entry of Contractor Management data;
  • Know where the data comes from for monthly/Quarterly HSE reports;
  • Assist with compiling various reports.

HSE Support

  • Provide day-to-day HSE Support to the HSE team;
  • Follow up with the onboarding and orientation process – meet with new hires;
  • Assist in data capture regarding training, orientation, auditing, inspections, observations, and asset data;
  • Assist in the development of incident review documents, hazard alerts and HSE Live Communications;
  • Participate in planning and preparation of ERP Drills, Safety Meetings and training courses as required;
  • Assist with PPE sourcing, and hearing fit testing;
  • Assist with coordinating set up, scheduling, planning, booking rooms and participation in training events as required;
  • Assist with preparation for Health and Safety Audits;
  • Assist with planning and preparation for monthly safety meetings on a rotation to ensure safety meeting topics are being reviewed and discussed;
  • Assist with the development and updating of the HSE manual, programs, SOP’s, SMS, GOI and training documents;
  • Assist with IOR review to flag areas of concern (trends, etc);
  • Assist with the Health and Safety Committee;
  • Other duties as required.

What Will Help You Succeed:
We are looking for individuals with a hardworking attitude. Individuals must be self-motivated and adaptable to change. Other things that will help you succeed in this role include:


  • Related Post-Secondary education is preferred; either a Health, Safety and Environment Certificate or Diploma certification or other similar certification is preferred;
  • Minimum 1 to 5 years’ progressive experience in an equivalent Quality, Health & Safety role preferred;
  • Computer literate, efficient with data management;
  • High level proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as Adobe;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and organize multiple concurrent assignments;
  • High attention to detail, especially with regards to statistical data and accurate report generation;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

ABOUT SOURCE ENERGY SERVICES

Source Energy Services is a company that focuses on the integrated production and distribution of frac sand, as well as the distribution of other bulk completion materials not produced by Source. Source provides its customers with an end-to-end solution for frac sand supported by its Wisconsin and Peace River mines and processing facilities, its Western Canadian terminal network and its “last mile” logistics capabilities, including its trucking operations, and Sahara, a proprietary well site mobile sand storage and handling system.
