They are seeking a motivated and experienced Director of Operations to lead and oversee all aspects of operations, ensuring they continue to meet the needs of clients while maintaining operational excellence.

Position Summary

Our client is looking for a Director of Operations to lead the day-to-day operations of their facility and drive operational excellence through continuous improvement. In this role, you will be working alongside the President, overseeing all operations, managing staff and maintaining quality stands through ensuring operational efficiency. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the company's success and growth.

A day in the life of

  • Oversee production, from raw materials to finished goods, ensuring product quality, timely delivery, and resource efficiency.
  • Develop and implement processes to improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure cost control.
  • Collaborate with senior management to set and achieve business goals.
  • Manage budgets, track costs, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Report key performance results to senior executives.
  • Ensure all products meet required quality standards and comply with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting efforts.
  • Create and implement strategic plans to meet business objectives.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and employees

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead weekly production meetings to optimize output, margins, and on-time delivery while balancing customer demands.
  • Develop and execute capital project plans, including new equipment installations and decommissioning.
  • Identify and implement improvements in productivity, safety, and efficiency within the workplace.
  • Oversee materials planning and procurement, supporting cost reduction strategies for raw materials, CapEx, and OpEx.
  • Ensure timely reporting and completion of pricing tasks.
  • Conduct regular pricing reviews and align purchasing decisions with market trends.
  • Manage 3PL strategy and warehouse space, optimizing material flow and addressing safety concerns.

What will make you successful

  • Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in a manufacturing environment, with a demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively. 15 years of working experience in the adhesives and coatings industry desired.
  • A minimum of a 4-year post-secondary degree in business, engineering, or a related technical field is required.
  • Strong technical knowledge of chemical formulations, production processes, and quality control.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on building strong, long-term relationships.
  • Solid understanding of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements in manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, small company environment requiring flexibility and a hands-on approach.
